KENNETH WONG
The motif of Kenneth’s work shifts between his conscious and unconscious mind. He sees unconsciousness as a gateway to the exploration of surrealism. Therefore, his realistic surrealism works are often associated with his dreams. He believes realism is the only art form that has its ceiling, and surrealism is the art form with no limit on creativity. Self-portrait means a portrait that is produced by the artist to represent themselves. A representation that is not merely physical but also emotional. A representation of their life experience.Hiding is an instinctive behaviour when we sense fear or danger to avoid things that bring negative experiences to ourselves. Covering with hands is the most instinctive reaction for humans to hide something. But what am I hiding? Or what are you hiding?
Kenneth (b.2000) is a Bachelor of Art in Fine Arts graduate from The Hong Kong Baptist University.
