"Whimsical Field I & II" begins with Lewis Lee's travels. Both works use textiles from traditional Balinese clothing purchased during his travels as canvases, blending Southern Hemisphere landscapes with imagination to subtly depict the customs and culture of the equatorial region."Whimsical Field II" blends the Balinese fields with the ancient Australian megalith Uluru, blurring the boundaries of time and place. Only in such a unique and secluded setting can one truly escape the hustle and bustle of city life. During his time traveling, the moonlight and stars he saw every night gave him a new understanding of time. Only by living alone in a foreign land can one truly reflect on the past, present, and future.
