Lulu (Gan Lu, b.1998, China and based in Hong Kong) graduated in 2020 from the Oil Painting department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art, in 2022 she graduated from the School of Creative Media, City University Hong Kong. Focusing on her self-growth and experience, her work manifests as a perceptive understanding of the methods of metaphor, simulation, and changing perspectives. Her video work “Stranded” looks at the quarantine as an observation of freedom. Freedom is a controversial topic that has been discussed since humans started to think, which therefore can't be simply generalised into one single word or one sentence.
