Tsang Chui Mei’s (b. 1972 in Hong Kong) works are not the interpretation of landscapes in our real world, but a kind of mental excursion and a spiritual space with a strong sense of anxiety in one’s mind. The dense textures and delicate details of coloured layers depicts a situation of fragmentation, a kind of dynamic force where the visual rhythm is repetitively intertwined. My expression of space in the landscape point of view is symbolic. It implies the sense of impermanence that temporal things, in a continuous change of condition, are subject to decline and renewal.

She received her Bachelor’s in Arts in 1996 and her Master of Fine Arts in 2004 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
