Fong Pong Yuet (b. 2000) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022, specializing in Gongbi and Mineral Pigment Painting. Within his painting, Fong would like the figures to be void of the experience of separation and sadness. Through different lines and shapes, Fong creates or recreates a surreal scene of a story where his fantasy dream comes true. In the painting, “In Heart’s Reflection”, he uses the story’s ending as the beginning of a new narrative and possibility in the “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.”
