Jaffa Lam (b. 1973) is a Hong Kong-based artist specializing in large-scale, site-specific, and mixed-media works, often making use of recycled materials, such as crate wood, old furniture, abandoned metal and umbrella fabric. Since 1999, in her “Micro Economic” series and other public/community projects, she has been connecting heritage and current affairs representing ordinary people through non-narrative and dialogical installations.

Jaffa Lam received her BFA, MFA and Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Apart from solo exhibitions, Lam has been invited to take part in many international institutional exhibitions such as the Setouchi Triennale, CHINA 8 – Contemporary Art from China at Rhine & Ruhr in Germany, The ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Denmark, Manifesta 12 in Italy, amoung others. She received a Desirée and Hans Michael Jebsen Fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council in 2006, In 2010, “Perspective” Magazine listed her in their 40 UNDER 40, recognising the next generation of design talent and she was an awardee of the Secretary for Home Affairs' Commendation Scheme in 2017.
