Kenneth Wong (b. 2000) specializes in realism artist using graphite pencil. The motif of his work shifts between his conscious and unconscious mind. He sees unconsciousness as a gateway to the exploration of surrealism. Therefore, his realistic surrealism works are often associated with his dreams. He believes realism is the only art form that has its ceiling, and surrealism is the art form with no limit on creativity. In his Self-portrait drawing he describes it as a means that is produced by the artist to represent themselves. A representation that is not merely physical but also emotional. A representation of their life’s experiences. Kenneth explains, “hiding is an instinctive behaviour when we sense fear or danger in order to avoid things that bring negative experiences to ourselves. Covering with hands is the most instinctive reaction for humans to hide something. But what am I hiding? Or what are you hiding?"
