Emme Wong (b. 1999) graduated from the Fine Arts Department of The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022. Specializing in photography and video art, the artist seeks the possibilities to express the relationship between art, self, and the world. In her early years of art study, she was proficient in utilizing painting as an artistic language to express her emotions and unique views. During her art studies at university, she switched from painting to photography and moving images, seeking a new experience beyond painting. The works try to enlarge from their point of view to the external world, imaging the big from the small. The work expresses those unspeakable secrets through images, video, and specially processed soundtracks. The creator has experienced several synchronic coincidences, which indirectly caused her precious worldview to be completely disintegrated, and an existential crisis was triggered.
