In my latest project for the hotel located near Signal Hill in Tsim Sha Tsui, I strive to capture the unique beauty of this landmark—its overgrown greenery and panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. My work features hand-woven threads and intricate embroidery, reflecting the organic shapes and sensations that emerge from this vibrant environment.

The interplay between calm and erratic movement is demonstrated in my each thread, inviting warmth and welcome to the hotel’s visitors. Signal Hill serves as a poignant backdrop for this artwork, embodying the daily connection to nature that many people in Hong Kong share. As one hikes up to the summit, the colorful hues of burnt orange and green found in both my piece and the hill evoke a sense of belonging and continuity.

The interplay of blues and turquoise captures the reflections of water and buildings, further intertwining the natural and urban landscapes of Hong Kong. Through this work, I invite viewers to engage with the memories and emotions tied to the natural world in Hong Kong, transcending mere physicality to explore the intangible connections we share with our surroundings.

As a Filipino interdisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong, my practice encompasses textiles, installation, and performance. Graduating with a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, I explore the histories of material and action, gender and labor, through the lens of memory and lived experience. My work delves into the shifting emotions that arise from spatial and temporal distances, transforming places into sites of memory and potential futures. Each carefully intertwined and knotted thread holds the tension of movement—both calm and erratic—inviting contemplation and connection.
