Wan Lok Yiu Kelly is an artist who focused on the social issues between independent artists and the political public sphere, as well as having an internship in the Art Promotions Office, in order to keep exploring the room of promoting art in Hong Kong.

Wan Lok Yiu Kelly, (b. 2000) who obtained a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Fine Arts from CUHK in 2022, founded Illusdreamer in 2016 in order to promote art with chalkboard art. Moreover, Kelly focused on the social issues between independent artists and the political public sphere, as well as having an internship in the Art Promotions Office, in order to keep exploring the room of promoting art in Hong Kong.

 

During her university studies, she wondered what would happen when traditional Chinese painting met contemporary pop culture. She has been a manga lover since childhood and started to draw anime with Gongbi techniques. Kelly is interested in maintaining the unique technique of Gongbi, as well as combining the elements of the Western perspective drawing technique, and the form of comics in her paintings to present her work “Craving the World and You Before the Pandemic.”
