Claire Lee is a visual artist based in London, who focuses on drawings and paintings but also producing objects, photography, and poetry.
Born in Hong Kong and based in London, Claire Lee is a visual artist working mainly in drawings and paintings but also producing objects, photography, and poetry. Her works explore poetic imagination on the human psyche. She draws inspiration from contrasts, struggles and resilience in human conditions, finding solace through meditative experiments with tactile materials, textures, and layers in her works. Her work has been exhibited in solo, group exhibitions and art fairs in Asia and abroad.

After she moved to the UK she created a bitumen-ink drawing collection titled "The Awakening: after visits to the bison. Her drawings imagined inner turmoil of the bison, their power and vulnerability, along with her intimate poetry. The journey to a 'spiritual landscape' represents a search in peace and seeks for spiritual awakening.

Since 2020 Lee has been working on a new series using abandoned and imperfect objects to explore innermost visual language around the subject of 'brokeness'. Her new works wish to connect and reach a sense of recognition, especially in the times of surging global instabilities.
