Nandan Ghiya's art presents the tensions between a culturally rich country and a rapidly globalizing world through a combination of photographs, paints and other found items.

Ghiya was born in Rajasthan in 1980. He lives and works in Jaipur. He has a diploma in fashion design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi. Over the years, Ghiya has had solo exhibitions in New Delhi, Hong Kong and Mumbai; and has been part of important group exhibitions at the San Jose Museum of Art and Ulrich Museum of Art, Kansas, amongst others. His recent solo ‘Ellipsis: Between Word & Image’ curated by Rahaab Allana was held at the Museum Galleries, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur. Ghiya’s work is also part of the prestigious Kadist collection.

Through his work, he wishes to distort perception and to explore the effects that digital technology has on indigenous cultures and personal identities. Ghiya's art presents the tensions between a culturally rich country and a rapidly globalizing world, inviting viewers to question and reflect upon the multifaceted layers of perception and representation.
