Huang Rui is one of China’s most highly regarded artists and one of the pivotal protagonists of the first non-conformist art groups to emerge from China in 1979 - The Stars (Xing Xing 星星) Art Group. Last year, Huang Rui was deeply roused by the war in the Ukraine and has created a new series of works for peace now exhibiting at the Polish Embassy in Beijing. Huang Rui’s latest series of paintings reflect on “Absence” and expand his experiments of space that has been ongoing for 40 years. Huang Rui has exhibited at the Guggenheim in New York, The M+ in Hong Kong, UCCA Beijing, Jupiter Museum Shenzhen and later this year at the Long Museum in Shanghai.
