EDUCATION
Exeter University, England
William Furniss was born in England in 1970. He studied engineering at Exeter University in England before beginning his photographic career in 1991. After 3 years assisting British photographers Patrick Lichfield, Geoffrey Shakerley, Marc Stones and Terry O’Neill, William moved to Hong Kong in 1993 to develop his own style of portraiture and fine art reportage. Hong Kong has been the base of his fine art and international commercial photography business ever since.
Outside of his commercial work, Furniss’ fine art photography favours the purity of film over digital manipulation, creating his photographic effects in camera. His work aims to visually capture the sensation of being in a certain place and time.
